Events for the Public
Education and outreach activities for the public
are designed to introduce general audiences to Materials Science and
Materials Scientists. CRISP faculty, staff, and students contribute to
a variety of programs such as Peabody Museum of Natural History
displays; CRISPEY Parents Night Out; Public Lectures; Demo Days; MRSEC
open house events; video productions; and, workshops. The major
objective of these programs is to improve the scientific literacy of
the public sector and to expose them to cutting-edge Materials Science
research. In order to impact audiences on a tangible level, the
focus of these programs is on real life applications rather than on
abstract concepts.
For more information about these programs, please
contact: Dr. Christine
Broadbridge, Education Director, or, Jackie Garofano,
Education and Outreach Coordinator.
